Frequently Asked Questions
What stock sizes do you have? (For Flushglaze only) 1000mm x 1000mm 1500mm x 1000mm 2000mm x 1000mm 3000mm x 1000mm
What is the current lead in time? 4 weeks (5 working days from stock)
Do you work to internal or external dimensions? We always work to external weathered upstand dimensions.
What should the upstand be made of? Timber is best but it can be made of anything as long as we can get a secure fixing, we specify minimum kerb width, but there is no maximum but the wider the kerb the less daylight will be visible.
What is the weight of the rooflight? Again it is dependent on the size and the rooflight chosen (guide only 40kg per square metre, 70kg for walk on units).
Are they fire rated? Yes we can make a fire rated Flushglaze unit of up to 1200mm x 1200mm it is rated at 30 minutes.
Can they be used as part of the building management system? Yes the Visionvent and P2000 can be linked to the system so that they can be opened.
Is there anywhere I can view the products? Unfortunately due to most of our rooflights being installed in residential properties it is difficult to view them. All the rooflights can be viewed at the Glazing Vision factory and offices and now our floating showroom.
Can my builder fit it or do you need to do it? Our standard products were designed to be installed by the builder, and we supply you with full CAD details and installation instructions.
Can you provide Pilkington suncool glass and self cleaning glass? Unfortunately we cannot provide self cleaning glass as it reacts with the silicone, however we can provide different glazing alternatives, for greater solar control we use Pilkington Suncool however other glass specifications such as tints are available.(changing the glass spec will change the lead time of the rooflight)
What is the u-value of the roolfight? The U-value is dependent on which rooflight you are considering and the size, the u-value of the Flushglaze can be calculated on our website. The Visionvents and pyramids give a centre pane of roughly 1.4 W/m2K.
What colours are available? As standard the framework is grey or white, other colours are available but opting for an alternative colour will effect lead time and price.
